

Margaret, a resident of Charlotte since 1941, died November 1, 2011, at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born March 13, 1922, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Margaret graduated from North Wilkesboro High School and attended Mars Hill Academy and Lenior-Rhyne College. She retired from (NCNB) Bank of America.
Margaret was an avid volunteer for the Crisis Assistance Ministry and a member of St. John’s Baptist Church. She also enjoyed golf, bridge, country and 40’s music, the beach, and wearing interesting, unusual pins. She leaves behind her family and friends who she most cherished.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Hendren and Nell H. Green; stepfather, Thomas M. Green; and husbands, Carr L. Miller, Cecil Hector (Mac) McEachin, and Herbert W. Clegg.
Margaret is survived by her children, Michael Grant Miller, PhD and his wife, Patricia, of Charlotte, Rebecca Miller MacNeill and her husband, Thomas, of Raleigh, and Andrew Daniel McEachin and his wife, Holly, of Monroe, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jennifer Goodson and husband, Todd, of Matthews, NC, Grant Miller, MD and wife, Ginny, of Mooresville, NC, Ben MacNeill of Chapel Hill, Katy Jones and husband, Jamie, of Raleigh, Emily Richardson and husband, Tony, of Lancaster, SC, and Andrew and Sam McEachin of Monroe, NC; great-grandchildren, Grant, Gabe, Grayson and Griffin Miller, Scarlett, Melanie and Jacob Goodson, Trixie MacNeill, and Zimmer McEachin and Aiden Bigham; as well as her special friend, Caroline Myers of Charlotte. Also surviving are Herb’s children, Herbert W. Clegg, MD and his wife, Gina, of Charlotte, Louine Clegg Holloway and her husband, Reverend David Holloway, of Lumberton, and Roy C. Clegg of Charlotte, and five grandchildren, Will, David and Elizabeth Clegg, Samuel Holloway and Evan Clegg.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at Harry and Bryant Company on Providence Road. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5th at St. John’s Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Dennis Foust officiating.
