Born in Charlotte on December 18, 1933 to Robert Lee Brown, Sr. and Pansy Ibera Morton Brown, Margaret was a true Southern cook who pampered her family with delicious home meals. Holiday meals in the Dover home were always the center attraction as Margaret lovingly prepared a wonderful and extravagant spread of family favorites. Margaret loved to entertain family and friends.
Weekends during the football season, you would find Margaret in the midst of providing a fine spread at Tennessee Volunteer tailgate gatherings for all to enjoy.
Margaret also spent time with her husband Samuel at Shriners events from the time he first joined until he became Potentate in 1995. They also spent time traveling the world together with stops in Hawaii, Germany, China, London, and Paris and traveled the seas on numerous cruises. Favorite past times included dancing with her beloved Samuel and walking for miles on the beach.
In later years, Margaret would spend many a morning watching the white squirrels, bunnies and birds on the back patio. The peace and tranquility of the morning hours brought much delight as she would watch the animals enjoying their breakfast in the warm sun.
However, Margaret's greatest love was for her beloved family. Left to mourn her loss are son Mike Dover of Nashville, TN and wife Jennifer; daughter Rhonda Campola of Charlotte; son-in-law Daniel Turner of Charlotte; grandsons Samuel Campola, Brandon Turner and Zachary Turner and his wife Julie all of Charlotte and great grandchildren Reid, Lorelai and Nora Turner of Charlotte along with her many grand dogs.
She is preceded in death by husband Samuel Dover and daughter Debbie Turner.
A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 3pm at Sharon Memorial Park located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte.
