

Marilyn was born in New Jersey on May 4, 1934, a devoted daughter of the late Terese "Tess" and Abraham B. Horowitz, and loving sister to the late Joseph (Horowitz) Harris.
Marilyn graduated from Mills College in New York, and was a devoted teacher of elementary school students. In December 1955, she married the late Marvyn J. Woronov of Queens, New York. In 1959 they moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where they raised their two children, Terry Woronov, of Sydney, Australia and David Lawrence Woronov of Braintree, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her two beloved grandchildren, Carys Abigail Morris Woronov of Denver, Colorado and Trefor Nathaniel Morris Woronov of Richmond, Rhode Island; numerous nieces and nephews and their families; and also numerous cousins and their families.
Marilyn was a member of Temple Beth El in Charlotte, a member of Planned Parenthood, and several civic and religious organizations. She was an avid reader, traveler, cook, music lover and choral singer.
There will be a memorial service for Marilyn on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Carriage Club Auditorium, located below the main club house, 5800 Old Providence Road. Rabbi Judy Schindler of Temple Beth El will be officiating. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
