Mr. McRae was born on Friday, September 24, 1948 to Edith L. Lingle McRae and Marion J. McRae Sr., and entered eternal his rest on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. His family will receive friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 6:00 until 7:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 11:00 am.
He was known as Butch by many of his friends and family, which was an affectionate nickname given to him by his grandmother, Ralsteen Severs Lingle. He enjoyed restoration projects on antique cars and furniture. He enjoyed painting. He enjoyed traveling with his family, and one of his favorite trips was going to St. Simons Island with his daughter and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Wanda White McRae. Left with his memory are his daughter, Kristian I. McRae; his granddaughter, Katerina L. McRae-Atkins and Brinley A. Willcox; and his grandson, Briggs A. McRae-Willcox.
