

Mary Lou Ringler (nee Price), age 89, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2021. Mary Lou was born on November 23, 1932 in Reading, Pennsylvania to parents Clarence Price and Ethel Schoch Price. Mary Lou rejoins her beloved husband of 69 years, Gerald W. Ringer, who preceded her in death on November 3, 2021.
As a young woman, in Reading, Mary Lou was a seamstress at a hosiery factory, a dietary aid at a hospital, and clerk at a local drug store. As a Marine Corps wife, Mary Lou moved to Quantico, Virginia where she was a secretary for the Marine Corps. Ultimately, Mary Lou and Gerald settled in Jacksonville, NC where they had and raised their children, Marjorie and Andrew. In Jacksonville, Mary Lou continued her career by briefly joining a collections agency as an agent. Afterwards, she became federal employee at the naval hospital at Camp LeJeune, where she completed her career in 1992.
Mary Lou was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Order of the Amaranth. For the Order of the Eastern Star of North Carolina, she served in leadership roles including District Deputy Grand Matron, Worthy Matron, and Secretary for the Jacksonville Chapter. Mary Lou was also a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church In Jacksonville, North Carolina until she relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mary Lou is survived by her children (Marjorie Ringler Rachide of Sandy Springs, Georgia and Andrew Gerald Ringler and spouse Bill Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina); her grandchildren (Mary Marlena Rachide and spouse Mark Lawrence Rankin of Atlanta, Georgia and Stephen Paul Rachide and spouse Sheila Rachide of Fort Mill, South Carolina); and her great-grandchildren (Evelyn Marie Rankin and Isaac William Rankin of Atlanta, Georgia and Henry Paul Rachide of Fort Mill, South Carolina). She is also survived by her nieces Debbie Price, Eileen Wilson, Ruth Rhoads, Linda Cianciosi, Heather Uczynski, Jan Henderson, Jill Noah, and Gale Martin and her nephews Roy Naftzinger, James Naftzinger, Paul Naftzinger, David Naftzinger, Ernie Price, Brian Ringler, Ross Ringler, Daniel Pruitt, and Michael Pruitt. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her two siblings, Earnest Price and Ellen Price Naftzinger.
Burial Service will be held at the Salisbury National Cemetery at 501 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, North Carolina 28144 at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
