Mary Youngman, age 77, passed peacefully on March 1, 2026. A spunky and vibrant soul, Mary embraced life with joy, courage, and an open heart. She never let embarrassment stand in the way of laughter, loved to dance and sing, and truly lived life to its fullest potential.
Mary began her career as a hairdresser, where she connected with others through conversation and care. Later, she followed a calling to serve in a deeper way and became a registered nurse, retiring after years of compassionately caring for others. Nursing was more than a profession to Mary it was an extension of her heart.
She loved traveling the world with her beloved "honey bear", David Youngman. Their love was a beautiful and steady presence throughout her life. Together they created memories across many places, always returning home with stories and laughter.
Mary found join in simple, meaningful things. She loved planting bulbs in her garden, patiently tending to them and delighting in their bloom. She was an avid quilter and generously donated many of her handmade creations, stitching love and comfort into every piece. When someone was hurting, Mary didn't just listen she felt it with them. If you were upset, she would cry with you. She was the person you could speak to without fear of judgment, always offering forgiveness, grace, and understanding.
Her family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Youngman; her children, Tonia Walker, Cheryl Walker, Cindy Soto Walker and stepdaughter Sharon Duncan; her grandchildren, Kristen, Marianna, Victoria, Jessica, Ashley, Tabitha, and Zayne; her great-grandchildren, Tao, Dylan, Gavin, and Haileigh; and her great-great-grandchildren, Lilian, Xander, and Jameson.
Mary held her faith close to her heart and spoke often with peace and excitement about meeting the Lord. Her faith guided her steps and gave her strength throughout her life.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on March 14, 2026, at Pineville Cemetery, 209 Lowry Street, Pineville, NC 28134.
Parking will be across the street from the cemetery.

Mary's legacy is one of love, forgiveness, faith, and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the beautiful way she lived and loved.
