Max attended Central High School in Charlotte. In 1952, he founded Max Shaw Sand & Gravel, which would later become Max Shaw Grading.
Max is survived by son Alan and wife Pam of Charlotte, daughter Cathy and Doug of Mooresville and daughter Cindy of Concord; granddaughters Alisha of Oakboro and Haley of Charlotte. He is preceded in death by his wife Ann of 50 years.
McEwen Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, June 3 at 1pm with the funeral service following at 2pm. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
