

Michael “Mike” Anthony Garcia passed away on January 30, 2024 at the age of 75, at Novant Matthews surrounded by his beloved family. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many.
He touched many lives over the years and never failed to be there for those he loved.
Born on November 16, 1948 to Ernest and Beulah Garcia, he was the oldest of three boys. Mike was always his brothers keeper, their bond was unmatched and unbreakable. They dubbed themselves “the lost boys” and were a pack of three. He loved his brothers deeply.
Mike proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1971, 2 years, of which was spent in Vietnam. He then retired and went on to have a long successful career as a mechanical engineer.
In his free time, he enjoyed watching baseball. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He loved the game of golf, especially when played with friends and family. More than anything he loved spending time with his family. Being a Papa was one of his greatest joys. He was an avid reader and also loved writing. He even went on to write his book "The Gomez Brothers- Never Give Up".
His family was his entire world. He leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Terry Garcia; daughter Wendy “Kendall” Shaw (Claude); stepson Hayden Poulin (Tara); stepson Josh Poulin; grandchildren Nolan (Drew), Journey, Kendra, Santana, Teagan, Gavin, Vivianna, Rylan, Ainsley, Ben, Caleb and Aidan.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers Nick and Eddie Garcia.
A visitation for Mike will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 beginning at 3:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors at 4:30 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5616 Monroe Road, Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to NC Lions Camp Dogwood, 7062 Camp Dogwood Drive Sherrills Ford, North Carolina 28673 in memory of The Lost Boys.
