Mildred Drake Stanley

Mrs. Mildred Drake Stanley, age 91, of Charlotte passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Sardis Oaks Nursing Home.

She was born June 28, 1921 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Berry Eli and Mary Riley Drake. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Stanley in March of 1995; brothers, Frank Drake and Francis Drake; and sister, Sadie Elliott.

She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Charlotte.

Survivors are son, Patrick Stanley and wife Barbara of Charlotte; daughter, Patricia Little and husband Mickey of Denver, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Benjy Little and wife Cindy of Kernersville, NC and Christie Stanley of Charlotte, NC; one great grandson, Drew Elliott Little of Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 with Hospice Chaplain Becky Holmes officiating at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
