

Nasim Keyon ‘Nas’ Scruggs, was born on November 7, 2004, in Newark, NJ to Nashema Scruggs and Leslie ‘Ice’ Goods. He was an infectious baby who stole the hearts of everyone around him.
Nasim spent most of his youth in Newark, New Jersey attending Thirteenth Avenue Elementary School until age ten. He relocated to North Carolina with his parents in 2014. Once in Charlotte Nasim continued his education at Lake Wylie Elementary, Southwest Middle, and Olympic High School.
Nasim enjoyed football and as a young boy played on a little league team where his parents and family would cheer him on from the front row of the bleachers. When he wasn’t playing, Nasim would cheer for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who were his favorite team along with his dad Leslie Goods.
His talents didn’t end on the football field, Nasim was also an amazing dancer with a sense of humor that would brighten your worst day. His big personality was felt the moment he stepped into a room where his smile captured everyone who was in his presence.
Nasim was a fierce lover and protector of his family, especially the women in his camp. His protective spirit was amazing to watch and grew exponentially when he became a big brother to Ava Jordan. Capturing his heart, Nasim and Ava became inseparable.
Ava and Nasim would share quiet jokes and loud laughs that would tickle his parents as they looked on wondering what the two were joking about. Their connection brought joy to their parents and warmth to their home.
Nasim was his parent’s Shining Star and was adored by everyone. His spirit, radiant smile, and compassionate heart captivated everyone who knew him. Nasim’s legacy will live on in the memories so many have; the stories that will fill our lifetime; and the joy he brought this world. Nasim Keyon ‘Nas’ Scruggs will always be embedded in our hearts.
Nasim leaves behind His mother Nashema Scruggs; father Leslie Goods; grandparents Theresa Scruggs and Craig Mitchel; sisters Ava Beaty, Nahmara Brown Scruggs, Amira, Vanessa, Tyasia, and Deasia Goods; brothers Amir Goods, Fahkir, and Nasir Johnson; aunts Kafisah and Tatiyana Scruggs; Uncle Jacoby Scruggs; god-sister Kiara Boylan; and an innumerable number of aunties, sisters, cousins, and friends who may not have shared blood but were connected by love.

A receiving of friends for Nasim will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28210, followed by a celebration of life at 2:30 PM.
