Nelia Mitra, age 64 of Charlotte, wife of the late Froilan Pobre II, passed away March 17, 2015. Born in Manila, Philippines on June 14, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Ceasar Mitra and Imelda Oliveros.
Mrs. Mitra was a Parishioner of St Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in Charlotte, and was also an active member of Couples for Christ in both North and South Charlotte.
She is survived by her daughter, Via Pobre of Anaheim, CA; 3 grandchildren, Lance Penilla, Nina Penilla and Geselle Pobre; 3 sisters, Josephine Hagan of Orlando, FL and Ida Magnan of New Jersey; her 2 dogs Kiko and Nyx. She was predeceased by a son Froilan “Oyan” Pobre and a daughter Anna Pobre.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21st, 11 AM at St Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Charlotte. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-8PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte.
