Her family writes: Who didn't know our Nanny? Who didn't fall in love with her the moment they met her?
She was strong, loving, kind, giving, forgiving, comforting, encouraging, unselfish, and uniquely herself. She had a quick wit that only grew sharper with age. She would say something that you didn't see coming, that would completely take you off guard and would leave you laughing uncontrollably. She would follow her comment with "shoot..." which made it even funnier. It was always the perfect ending to any comment or question.
Her grand's and great-grand's love for her would bring her to tears. She knew she was loved deeply.
Her kids, were more like her best friends. They would sit with her for hours and just talk, watch their favorite tv programs, cheer on her sports teams, or hit the stores for some shopping. And when everyone was ready to head back home, Nanny would try to fit in one last store. Her high energy and enthusiasm for life was incredible.
There was never a dull moment with Nanny. She was full of life, overflowing with love, and will never be forgotten.
As her spirit lives on, I can hear the echo of her encouraging words, the gentle push of her guidance and feel the overwhelming love that she has for all of us.
I feel that she is truly happy and thankful. She's free and she lives on. We love you Nanny!
REFLECTIONS:
To Nanny: I always felt blessed to share the same birthday as you. Now I feel even more blessed to have that bond with you. 7/3 will never be the same. Miss you and love you Nanny.
Love,
Georgie
Mother in Law does not apply to Nanny. She accepted me into this family immediately. I pray to be that kind, generous and loving to our children's spouses. I will never forget how much we laughed. "Nanny - Pooh" was my friend and my mother. She taught me HOW to be apart of a REAL family. I didn't have that coming up. She helped me open my heart, completely, to receive the love of a family. Her name is forever blessed in my heart.
Love,
Denise
