On Saturday November 16th, 2019, Pamela Denise Roman Bowman, a loving, wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend transitioned to her heavenly resting place.
Pam, as she was affectionately called, was born on October 14, 1964, to Willie and Bessie Roman in Lexington NC. She graduated from Lexington Senior High School and attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Pam was a devoted employee at Wells Fargo in financial and lockbox services for many years.
On December 2, 1989 Pam married her best friend, Scott Bowman. This nearly 30 year union produced two wonderful, God fearing daughters who were the loves of her life and her greatest blessings ~ Olivia Denise Bowman of Asheville, NC and Ashley Scott Bowman of Greensboro, NC and her fur baby, Bandit, whom she affectionately called Bandalino.
Pam, an avid reader and coffee lover, had a passion for people, babies and animals. She never met a stranger. Her smile could light up a room and her laughter was infectious! Her kind and compassionate spirit led her to serve others in so many capacities. Whether it was in the Kids Kingdom ministry, at Swamp Camp Services as a volunteer advisor, serving the homeless or simply making friends in Target; her love for Jesus and his people was apparent. Everyone who came into contact with her left feeling loved, valued and important. Pam lived a life that glorified Christ!
Left to cherish her memory in addition to her immediate family are her loving parents; her sister, Cassandra Roman (Winston Salem, NC); brother Willie James Roman Jr. (Lexington, NC); step-brother and sister in law Michael (Stephanie) Smith (Great Mills, MD); devoted father and mother-in-law, Wayne (Janice) Bowman; brother and sister-in-law Kevin (Patia) Bowman.
She held a special place in the hearts of her aunts and uncles, Belinda Clark (Lexington, NC), Sullivan (Gloria) Welborne, Jr. (Greensboro, NC) and Bobby (Patricia) Roman (Las Cruces, NM). Her best and closest friend Mrs. Shelia Bovard and family (Midland, NC); two god-sisters Hakima Britt (Greensboro, NC) and Makia (Matrice) Cade (Winston-Salem, NC); host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the entire Charlotte Church family and Union Baptist Church family in Lexington, NC will forever cherish her legacy of love, friendship and service.
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:51-57(KJV).
