

Charlotte – Peggy Everidge, 80, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 of heart failure at CMC Main.
The daughter of the late Nalle Link and Lola Mauney Hill, she was born in Charlotte at St. Peter’s Hospital on November 15, 1931. She graduated from Central High School where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. At age 19 she married her childhood sweetheart, Jack, and became a homemaker and they were blessed with 61 years of marriage.
Peggy will be missed for her deep love and care for family and friends, her church and exercise buddies. This love was displayed through her generosity, joy for life and sense of humor. Peggy expressed her love for her Savior by teaching two-year-olds and greeting newcomers at church. Her greatest joy was sharing sourdough bread and pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all those who touched her life.
Peggy is survived by her beloved husband; daughter, Rhonda Rhino and husband, Danny; son, Brent and wife Debbie of Oak Island, NC; brother, Nalle (Sonny) Hill; grandchildren, Mikal Rhino and wife, Alyson of Wake Forest, NC; Caty McCoy and husband, Patrick; great grandchildren, Gabriel, Phoebe, and Graham; brother-in-law, Jesse Everidge; special nieces, Sonya Hill and son and Kristie Presten and family of Lilburn, GA; and last but not least, her beloved cat, Boise. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Nina Everidge; sisters-in-law, Judy Hill and Grace Everidge; and nephew, Lee Everidge.
In this time of great sorrow, the family would like to express deep gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for the care, concern, prayers and love of so many dear people that have touched their lives. We especially want to thank Dr. Michael Friedland and Dr. John Fedor and their staff for the exceptional medical care and compassion through the years as well as the late Dr. Tyson Bennett and his staff.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Midwood Baptist Church, 2029 Mecklenburg Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials to Midwood Baptist Church.
