Phyllis Sherrill Baker, 87, of Charlotte, died Monday, December 14, 2015 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. She was born in Iredell County to the late Mary Augusta Laugenour Sherrill and Cephus Malone Sherrill.
Phyllis was a member of Commonwealth United Methodist Church for many years and retired from Bellsouth after 49 years of service.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughter Sonya Garlick and her husband Glen; granddaughters Mackenzie Garlick, Amber Gulledge and Heather Gulledge; great grandson, Joshua Eudy; sister, Mary Malone Kasper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Baker; daughter, Sandra Gulledge as well as three sisters.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte. A funeral service will also be held at the funeral home at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 17. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
