When I first met Ralph, I was 27 years old, so you can tell I have known him and worked with him for a very long time.  I was at Little Associates working on site development plans and Ralph was a construction manager architect's rep for Little.  Then I left and went to Faison Associates.  Ralph worked with us on a multitude of projects including Valley View Mall in Roanoke and SouthPark Mall in Colonial Heights Va.  Our last project together was a huge shopping center in Germantown, Tenn.  We always made every project as much fun as it was work.  Our regrets to the family and Doris.  Not many people enjoyed life and work as Ralph did and it was a pleasure to work with him.  No telling what he will be building in Heaven.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Ferrell family.  Ralph and his family along with his brothers and sisters and their families were so faithful to attend the Smith reunions each year. I will cherish those years as I love Aunt Lula's family so very much.  God bless you all.

Am so sorry for your family's great loss. Have had the great honor of knowing his daughter and two of his 19 grandchildren, who have meant a tremendous amount to me over the past 20-plus years. They are all a great, loving, caring, patriotic and compassionate example of their father/grandfather. Although I never got to personally know him, I feel I did through his family. Our prayers go out To The Ferrell Family during Their time of Grief and to remind them that this is also a time of great joy in Heaven because another Saint of God has entered into eternal life. I did not know Ralph Sr. But I have been friends with Ralph Jr. for the Last three or four years. Through Our interactions I Feel that I Know each of You through your Brother and what a proud family heritage you all have through your Dad and your Mother. Dear Ferrell family, i am very sorry for your loss.I was an old friend of William,s and i just want to say that i didnt know Ralph but he must have been an exceptional man because any man that can achieve what he did and to be married to the same woman for 73 years that says a lot about his character.May God comfort the family and give them peace in knowing that Ralph is having a joyous reunion in heaven with his son
