

Dick was born in Charlotte, NC at Mercy Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne Frances Kalan, and long time partner Dana Joan Hanson. After graduating from Central High School in 1951, Dick attended The Citadel and the University of South Carolina. Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army, 69th Infantry Division of the military police during the Korean conflict. After the conclusion of his military service, Dick trained as a stockbroker. He later found his true vocation- buying and selling real estate in his hometown of Charlotte.
He was a active member of the Charlotte City Club and Myers Park Country Club. Dick was a proud and supportive brother to his late sisters, Anne Beatty McKenna and Katherine “Kitty” Beatty Gaston, as well as his brother, Francis “Skipper” Beatty, Jr. He is survived by one nephew, Curtis Gaston, and one niece Katherine McKenna Stotler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211, on Friday, June 27th, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.
