

Born October 8, 1940 in Bowling Green, Ohio, he was the son of the late Cecil Richard Croll and Winifred Roberts Croll. Following graduation from Bowling Green High School, Dick attended The Ohio State University and received a BS of Business Administration and a BS of Mechanical Engineering. He graduated in the top ten percent of his class and was a member of Phi Tau Sigma engineering honorary fraternity. He spent his career working for IBM and was granted a number of patents for his designs.
Dick was a devoted father and grandfather, always on the go to fairs, parades, museums and RV shows. He also had a passion for adventure. He loved traveling to new places with his family and exploring. He was never idle, whether building a new prototype for a camper or flying a kite with his grandchildren. He spent many hours on the water boating and fishing, which is something he enjoyed at a very young age with his father and later shared with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife, Lorain Morris Croll; two children, Susan Croll Zegub of Lampasas, Texas and Diane Croll Crowther(Mark)of Charlotte, North Carolina; and four beloved grandchildren, Zach and Jackie Zegub and Harry and Izzy Crowther.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son Richie and his sister Carolyn Stover O’Rourke.
A private family gathering celebrating Dick’s life will be held at a later date.
