Mr. Drye, age 63 of Stanfield, N.C. died July 21, 2011 at Brian Center, Reddman Road. A visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, N. C. Interment will be at a later date in Forest Lawn West Cemetry with Military rites, Reverend Bruce League officiating.
Mr. Drye was born December 16, 1947 in Stanly County son of the late Charley Spurgeon and Esther Springer Drye. He was a graduate of West Stanly High School and had been employed by the Bouligny Company as a welder before retiring and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Gerry Drye, sisters, Lillie Tucker, Peggy Huneycutt and Diana Furr, brothers, Ralph, Bill, Leonard, Mitchell and Benny Drye, brother and sister-in-law, James and Penny Atkins, nephews, John and Andy Robinson and his pets, Smokey and Indi. The family would like to thank CMC Main, tenth floor Medical Staff, Dr. Don Coric and Brian Center for their loving care of Mr. Drye.
