

Richard B. (Buddy) Holder passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017. He was born June 2, 1934 in Mecklenburg Co., the son of William P. and Edna W. Holder. He attended Berryhill and West Mecklenburg High School. After high school, he was employed by Easterby & Mumaw Steel which later became Florida Steel Corp. in Charlotte. He eventually retired from Little Rock Auto Sales doing what he loved the most, messing with cars. Buddy enjoyed involvement with automobiles which is evident by the number of cars he owned throughout his lifetime. He loved to travel and enjoyed visiting friends. Always an avid sport enthusiast, he took a lot of pleasure in supporting his grand and great grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include, sons Buz Holder and wife Carol and Benjie. Grandson Chad and his wife Marie. He has 3 great granddaughters, Courtney and Caitlyn Miller and Ashlyn Holder. He is also survived by a sister Benita Holder Miller Moorefield. He was preceded in death by (his high school sweet heart) wife Betty Springs Holder, married for 64 years, brothers Bill, Benny and Barney Holder, sisters Braunda Holder Flowe, Barbara Holder, Bettilou Holder Ellis. Also, granddaughter Ashley Holder Miller. Services will be held at Mulberry Presbyterian Church on November 15, 2017.
A visitation will be held from 1:00PM-2:00PM followed by the service. The arrangements are being handled by Dignity Memorial-Forest Lawn West. The family would also like to thank Preston House Alzheimer Living Center for all the care and love provided over the last year and a half, Novant Health Hospice and Premier Home Care. Also, we would like to thank their former neighbors, you all were so special to him.
