Richard Lynn Lakey, 50 of Charlotte died February 4, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be at 12:30 P.M., Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Forest Lawn West Chapel with Reverends Ronald Perry, Chris Lakey, Gene Lakey and Beverly Brock officiating. Visitation will follow the Memorial Service at the Funeral Home. Mr. Lakey was born August 21, 1960 in Charlotte, was a member of Aldersgate UMC, graduate of Olympic High School and Winthrop University. He was employed by the Compass Group as a Specialist of Proposal Development. Surviving are his mother, Dorothy B. Lakey of Charlotte, sister, Shelley Youngblood (Tony) of Charlotte, nephew, Taylor Youngblood. He was preceded in death by his father, Garland E. Lakey.
