Robert Blaine Kellis Sr.

Robert (Bob) Kellis passed away early Thursday morning, June 16, 2016 at his residence at the Brookdale Senior Living Community. Mr. Kellis was born in Southern Pines, NC on February 24, 1924 and was 92 years old at the time of his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents Mitchell and Chrissy Kellis and his sister Evelyn Odom. Mr. Kellis had attended UNC before entering a long career with CIT Financial Services. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed playing golf while his health allowed and when he was no longer physically able to play, he continued to be an avid fan as well as a big fan of the Tarheels.

Mr. Kellis is survived by his wife of 69 years Jane Kellis, son Blaine Kellis and his wife Missy of Brandon, FL, daughter Candy Austin and her husband Dale, grandsons Adam Austin of Charlotte, Andrew Austin and his wife Briana of Cary, NC and niece Janet Peele of Aberdeen, NC.

The Kellis Family will be receiving friends on Monday, June 20th at 10:00 am at McEwen Funeral Services at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am in Sharon Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church; 6701 Idlewild Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212.
