Robert Amos Long

Mr. Long, 82, of Charlotte, NC died February 11, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital.

He was born March 4, 1929 in Union County, North Carolina, son of the late Bertie Brice Long and Floye Hough Long. Bob was a graduate of Oak Hurst High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was a dedicated member of Memorial United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Seekers Sunday school class. Bob had worked as Parts Director and Manager with Independence Nissan, retiring after 26 years of service.

The family will greet friends Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service Mint Hill Chapel. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the McEwen Mint Hill Chapel. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.

Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty Spake Long. He is survived by his three siblings, Beth Ellen Martin of Georgia; Bill B. Long, Sr. of Concord and Jean Long White of Charlotte and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
