I was searching the net hoping to locate Ron.  I found the Obituary.  Although this is Thanksgiving Eve 2024, Ron's passing is new news to me.  I find myself very saddened at my discovery.  I was one of Ron's room mates  at Carson-Newman College in Tenn.  We became good mates for those formative college years.  Ronnie (as I knew him) was quick to be all in on almost any bone head idea, either his or mine.  I cherish memories we had at the campus, camping and hiking in the nearby Smokies.  Testing his driving skills in all conditions be it rain, snow and especially on ice.  He was inspired and fearless,  driven with a healthy dose of testosterone.  We chased the ladies, played sports, lifted weights and jumped out of airplanes (with parachutes of course).  We played in a rock and roll band, he was the lead singer, I played bass.  I recently spoke to the 2 guitars players and we vowed to look up Ronnie to catch up before we all got old.  We had a most excellent spring break trip to Daytona.  We were bound by a blood oath not to speak of the details and I won't, but, while driving back to college Sunday afternoon before before Monday classes we were heading down the road somewhere in North Carolina and a wheel fell off his car and we ended up in spinning down the road.  When we stopped, the lost wheel went rolling by us.  We caught a ride back to college from a kind stranger in the back of his pick-up truck and almost froze to death.  There were many adventures.  I will miss him and wish I had connected again with him.  He was a bit unbridled back then as we all were, but a solid God loving man and a good friend.

Ronnie and I grew up together at East Baptist Church on Monroe Road in Charlotte, NC.  My mother introduced Ronnie to Rosie, both will be missed greatly.  My prayers are with the family.

We first met Ronnie & Rosie at a Lamaze class in 1984. As we would soon discover, Ronnie made the class a side-splitting joy because of his quick, "spot-on" humor. Finally in exasperation the instructor said to him & Rosie, "this is serious stuff...if you both are laughing right after child birth, I'll buy you a steak dinner!" Ronnie's response, "what if only one of us is laughing!!!" So typical of Ronnie's humor! I Thessalonians 4:13-18. Love ya buddy!

I'm so deeply sorry to hear this news.  We met Ronnie and Rosie in our Christian Lamaze class when we were expecting our first babies.  Sons.  We loved them both so much.  I'm so very sorry.

" Stew" and I went to school together and attended UNCC together alternating each day on whom was driving. I remember him to have always had a great sense of humor and was a down to earth good person. I know that he will be missed by so many.

We have known Ron and Rosie since our kids were in school together at Covenant Day School. Then reconnecting at FHC Waxhaw. He will be greatly missed. A well respected man and friend. We will always remember seeing him worship with his hands lifted to our Lord. Now he is forever rejoicing and praising God in Heaven. So sorry we cannot be there today to celebrate his life. Praying for Michael and Jeremy!

Ron and Rosie were great friends and supporters of the Charlotte Eagles.  They generously allowed many of our players and staff to live in their guest house.  They volunteered at the games and supported the ministry in other ways.  Ron always had a smile and laughed easily.  His servant heart was apparent in all that he did.

I knew Ron from the kayak club.  He made any trip he was on much more fun.  I will miss his quick wit and kindness. Paddle on Ron.

I have known Ron through work for several years.  He was always very gracious, professional, and a pleasure to know. He will be truly missed. Our hearts and prayers are with his family and all those he held close, during this difficult time.

Wonderful memories of camping when we helped start the boy scout troop at church. He will be missed by many.

Ron was one of my favorite clients picking up payroll at Paychex.  We always had fun singing oldy songs and silly dancing.

I grew up with Ronnie at Oakhurst and East Baptist. He was one of the "good guys". I know he will be greatly missed, because he was greatly loved. My sincere condolences.

I had the pleasure of working with Ron for 29 years. He was always the professional, meticulous in its highest definition. I thankfully on many occasions conveyed to him my gratitude for my employment with his company and I am so glad that I did. His moral character was a very positive influence.Rest in peace my friend.

I met Ron and Sandy, brother and sister, on a paddle on the Lumber River earlier this year.  I remember both being people of genuine faith and it being a breath of fresh air not to be on the river, but being with them.  I lost my prescription glasses on the river and Ron stuck with me as I searched, even when others had given up and continued on the paddle.  Took over 10 minutes to find my glasses, but Ron was with me to rejoice at answered prayer when I lifted my glasses from the murky water!  I'll never forget the sweet Spirit of God in Ron.  My heart-felt prayers go out to his sweet sister Sandy and the rest of the family.

Ron was a long time friend of ours..so many evenings we spent with him and Rosie...so many funny times and talks about the Lord and life's joys and challenges. We are stunned this has happened. He sat in our garage just over a week ago when he came to pick up some of our special coffee blend and we had a good talk with him. He was so proud of his sons and grandkids. When he left, our overwhelming thought was, He's just such a nice guy. We're thankful the Lord gave us that one last visit with him on this side of eternity. Our hearts grieve for Michael and Jeremy in particular, knowing the enormous loss they are experiencing. And at the same time, we see him dancing with his beloved Rosie in the light of heaven's King. We'll see you again before long, Ron. God be with your family and friends.

Jane and I first met Ronnie when we moved to Charlotte and started attending East Baptist Church, he was still in his teens.  Ronnie and I sang in the choir, and I asked Ronnie to sing at my father's furneral (he sang In The Garden, my father's favorite hymn). Our sympathies to his family. We know he is in Heaven.

Ron was kind enough to let my husband David and I stay in his garage apartment when we first moved to Charlotte.  His generosity will never be forgotten.  Heaven just got even better because now Ron is there.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I hadn't seen Ron in several years but always thought highly of him. He was genuinely kind and funny and did love his family very much. My love and prayers go out to Ann and Sandy and his family.

My husband and I had the privilege of getting to know Ron in the past 3 years through Church. We were part of the Sunday morning prayer group as Ron was. He impacted us in so many ways with his love for His Savior. We always would smile when we heard Ron coming around the corner singing praises to our Lord and Savior. He absolutely loved singing unto the Lord. His praying heart for others was outstanding and inspirational. He certainly has left so many memories in our hearts that we will always cherish. We will miss our dear friend and brother in Jesus. Our hearts hurt for his family knowing you have lost such a great brother, father, grandfather,and son. May the peace and comfort that only God can give fill your hearts in this pain.

I am shocked. He was such a positive guy, ready for laughs, great paddling friend. It always was a pleasure to have conversations with Ron about music, education, just jokes and witty banter, and so many more subjects. A renaissance man, a good guy, a paddler friend. He will be greatly missed.

We were sorry to learn of this loss to your family.  Although we did not know Ron personally, Michael and Kristi and their kids are part of our extended family on Kristi's side.  You will be in our thoughts and prayers during these difficult days, and may the Lord's grace and peace comfort your hearts in many special ways.

We are so very sorry to hear of Ron's sudden passing.  Ron was such a great neighbor; he was one of the first people we met in North Carolina, and he was always kind to us and our boys. We enjoyed seeing him out in the yard or on walks; and getting to hang out at the neighborhood picnics. He always had a smile and a wave for us, and a good word, and it was clear how much he loved his family, and what a good person he was. I didn't know Ron well and only paddled with him once or twice--but I recognized the sparkle of his personality was full of humanity and humor and would be someone in this complicated life that time would be well spent with.

It will be a somber Thanksgiving celebration for you all, but keep in mind that your loss doesn't change Who God is.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  My heart especially goes out to Ron's Dad who never thought he would be burying his son; that's not the way it's supposed to go. May you find joy around the table as you remember Ron's laughter, and realize that your memories can keep him with you.

I knew Ron when our boys were in scouts together at Christ Covenant. I remember his servant's heart and sense of humor. RIP Ron.

Ron was a kind and lovely man with a spirit of fun and encouragement. I'll miss seeing his face and hearing his voice. He'll be greatly missed.

What a loss for those who got to be around Ron regularly. As a fellow deacon I saw one of the most godly men I have known. He was so real. He truly cared and was a prayer warrior like few I have witnessed. We had some great laughs as well as the most serious of times. He sure loved his family. Praying for strength and comfort as they face the days ahead. Ron, go rest high on that mountain with that sweet wife.

Ron, my Brother-in-Christ, you will be greatly missed by me. In so short a period of time you became my advisor in my bible studies and in essence my Christian mentor. I will wait until we both see the faces of Jesus and Father God to reunite with you.
Until then be of good joy but know for many you will be deeply missed.

I am so sorry that Ron had to go so soon.  What a human being he is.  Kind, smart,adored his family, never gossiped and was sooo funny.  We were kayaking this spring and were "running the shuttle".  Every time I think of the conversations we had I crack up!  I love his sense of humor.. either under the radar or straight up silliness.  You inspired me to be more positive and kind Ron.  I will miss you on the water, around the fire and on the way to the water.  Rest in peace dear Ron.

Such a shock - so sudden.  We rarely saw Ron but we really loved him.  He was friendly, witty and always the perfect gentleman.  It is comforting to know he is with the Lord now - with Rosie, Mildred, Ellis, Georgia, and many others that were close to him.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. So very sorry.  I met Ron through the Catawba Cruisers kayak group and always enjoyed his company on the rivers.  His love of his family came through in every conversation, along with his kindness and great sense of humor.  He will be greatly missed.

When I would see that Ron was signed-up to go on a kayak excursion with the Catawba Cruisers, I knew we would have lots of fun on that trip!  I will always treasure our laughter and conversations.

I always looked forward to paddling with Ron.  He had such a great sense of humor and was an easy person to talk to.  I will really miss his company on the river.  Paddle on buddy.

Ron will be missed by all those that paddled with him the last few years. We look back with a smile as we remember the paddles and camping with Sandy at the Lynch's and the escapade on the Lumber with Gail, Mena and Heath. Personally I will miss his great sense of humor.

I met Ron through kayaking and camping with the Catawba Cruisers. I will miss his sense of humor so much. He also entertained us by singing while we paddled. He was a good friend, and he will truly be missed.

Oh man, what a loss of such wonderful man, and fellow Scouter.  I loved to kayak with Ron as we had so much in common raising boys and doing scouting activities.  He loved coming to my camp in Virginia where he was a guest so many times. I feel like I lost a brother.

What a shock. Tom and I know Ron thru kayaking with the Catawba Cruisers. He was such a lovable guy, always full of fun. He will be missed.

Ron was always such a happy soul. He had an infectious sense of humor. Whenever he would have the chance to join us paddling or camping he was always there to make us laugh. I am so going to miss him, his stories, his laughter. Till we meet again my friend.
