He attended South Mecklenburg and Myers Park High Schools. Scott owned and operated Salzer Construction Group. His love for building fine homes, mostly in the Myers Park area, is only surpassed by his love of family. Scott married Nanci Yang in December of 1992 after a five-year courtship. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Charles Edwin Salzer II, age 21, and Genevieve Marie Salzer, 19. Scott's heart and personality was also the reason he built such a close group of life-long friends, many of whom also shared his love for Harley Davidson motorcycles. His love has also provided his family and friends with endless memories and stories, which we all know Scott would be pleased to hear us sharing in the years ahead. "Duh duh, da..." as he always said while making his famous hand gesture. Scott Charles Salzer had one heck of a ride.
The service to honor his life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Christ Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the Blue Room at the church. Interment will be held later that afternoon at 3:30 pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery in Pendleton, SC.
Memorial contributions may be made to Levine Cancer Institute of Charlotte.
