Shirley Long Biers, 80, of Charlotte, passed away December 24, 2025. Born September 10, 1945 in Charlotte, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lillie (Sanders) Long. She married Frank E. Biers on August 9, 1974 in York, SC and together they shared 51 years of marriage.
A graduate of East Mecklenburg High School, Shirley retired from WSOC Radio/TV after 40 years of employment as the Traffic Manager. She attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte.
An avid shopper, Shirley enjoyed traveling with her husband and granddaughter, NASCAR, football, spending time with her five fur babies and family.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Biers; her son, Brian Stogner (Mary Ford); granddaughters, Ashley Stogner and Kat Ford; brother, Jerry Long; former daughter-in-law, Tina Stogner; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Long Helms and her brother, Donald Richard Long.
A visitation for Shirley will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.
