Stephen Clifford Owens

Born March 19, 1951, in Baltimore, MD, Steve was the eldest child of the late Harry and Mildred Owens. He graduated from Myers Park High School and proudly served seven years in the US Air Force. Steve dedicated his life to his wife, Donna Owens, his three children, and seven grandchildren.

He was a humble man who cherished his family and possessed many creative talents. Throughout his life, he played drums in a band, experimented with oil painting and drawing, wrote short stories, and often pondered life's mysteries. Steve took pride in his travels during military service, where he learned about different cultures. He also enjoyed cooking, inventing new recipes for family gatherings. His interests included history, westerns, and science fiction.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Donna Owens; his children Christina Alteria (Ramsey), Debra Owens, and Matthew Owens (Sara); and his seven grandchildren Devin Reed (Chance), Drake Pearson, Brian Owens, Ian Owens, Jacob Shephard, Ruby Tapia and Eben Tapia. He also leaves behind his loving brother Ronnie Owens (Sam), his treasured baby sister Rene Watson (Rick), and niece Danielle Garvaglia.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on May 2, 2026, at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park at 12:00 PM.
