It is with deep sorrow that the family of Susan Chase Johnson announces her passing on February 4, 2026. Born on July 17, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland, Susan passed away peacefully at Asbury Health Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In 1978, Susan married the love of her life, Walter Johnson, and together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and companionship.
Susan was a loving and understanding mother, known for her generous spirit, kindness, and gentle heart. She found great joy in crocheting, creating colorful, warm blankets that became cherished gifts for many families and were lovingly donated to a local women’s shelter. In her quieter moments, Susan enjoyed reading and spending time admiring the beauty of nature.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Walter Johnson; her children, Brian Johnson and his wife Gail Johnson, Megan Johnson, and Kevin Johnson; her cherished grandson, Alan Johnson; and her brothers, Pearre Chase and Jim Chase.
Susan was preceded in death by her loving parents, Pearre Crowel Chase and Betty Caldwell Chase.
A memorial service will be held at a future date in the DFW metroplex. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local women’s shelter or to www.safealliance.org in honor of Susan’s compassionate and giving nature.
