

Thelma was a very giving and loving spirit who loved and was loved by everyone in her family and everyone who knew her. She dedicated herself to any pursuit, especially any pursuit related to her family and friends.
Thelma and her loving husband Jim were very involved in their community, and both were very involved and active at Cole Memorial Methodist Church in Derita, raising four children in that community. Thelma was a Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout Den Mother, and faithful choir member.
Thelma loved reading, playing bridge, and being involved in any celebration with family or neighbors, especially if it involved singing, dancing, and laughter. She even won a few Best Hat competitions at Hat Parties!
A service to celebrate the life of Thelma Lee Sharpe will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2024, in the Chapel at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from from 12-12:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Forest Lawn West Cemetery on the same property.
Survivors include her son, David Lee Sharpe and his wife, Barbara, of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Susan Rebecca McClain and Mary Malinda Logothetis, both of Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Valerie Armeen and husband Joe; sister, Vickie Houser and her husband Jerry, both of Charlotte; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, James William Sharpe Jr.; son, James William ‘Bill’ Sharpe, III; brother, Donald Baker and his wife, Arlene; and sister, Janice Parker and her husband Archie.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the American Heart Association.
