

He was born January 30, 1939 in Clinton, NC, a son of the late Lawrence and Mary Pope Brown.
He attended Huntersville Elementary and North Mecklenburg. Following high school, he served 4 years with the US Air Force.
He enjoyed drag racing and restoring his ’55 Chevy. An avid NASCAR fan, he followed both Dale Earnhart SR and JR. and was a member of the South 21 Classic Car Club.
He was employed as a site tester for F and R and later in the trucking industry with his son.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Camille Dietz Brown. Also surviving is a son, Ricky Brown and his wife, Wanda of Monroe, NC, two brothers, Ray Brown of Harrisburg, NC and Homer Brown and his wife, Barbara, of Houston, TX, a sister, Dixie Brown Cashion and her husband, Mac of Cornelius, NC, three granddaughters and one great grandson.
Funeral services are planned for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January23, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Service-Derita Chapel. Friends may visit Wednesday evening at the funeral home where the family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will take place in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
Contributions in memory of Thomas Cleveland Brown can be made to local animal shelters or the Wounded Warrior Project.
