As a young boy growing up in Brooklyn, he loved baseball and his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Angela Caristi on July 17, 1977 and they had two children, Thomas and Jennifer, who meant the world to him.
In 1990, he moved the family to the Poconos in Pennsylvania to give them a better life. Despite the new residence, he continued to work in New York and later, New Jersey, commuting daily. Still, he never missed time with his family. He provided everything for his family.
Over the last five-plus years, he played his defining role as Poppy to Alessandra, and for the past three, Anthony. His grandchildren meant the world to him.
Along with his beloved wife Angela, with whom he was married to for over 43 years, his son Thomas, daughter Jennifer, daughter-in-law Angela, and grandkids, Alessandra and Anthony, he is survived by his sister, Kathy, and brother Kenneth.
He loved nothing more than time with his family. He was the true definition of a family man.
A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 15 in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Home @ Myers Park, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service.
