Verona Stone Branch

Verona Stone Branch, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. Born in Belmont on March 28, 1930, she was the eldest daughter of the late Dewey Stone and Ethel Walls Stone. Mrs. Branch was a former member of Green Memorial Baptist Church and the Azusa Caldron #102. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, flea markets and collecting “whatnots”.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, November 29th in the Mausoleum Chapel

at Sharon Memorial Park. Pastor Timothy Nichols will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM, prior to the service in the Mausoleum Chapel.

Mrs. Branch is survived by a son, John R. Branch and fiancee, Caron Slusser, of New Orleans, LA, a daughter, Lessie B. Wise and life partner, Tina Pratt, of Cornelius. Four grandchildren,

John Branch, Griffin Branch, Tiffany Traywick, Jennifer Garrity and husband Chris. Daughter-in-law, Suzie Branch, all of Charlotte. Brother-in-law Charles English and wife Trilby of Cary, NC.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Branch was preceded in death by her husband, William Durham Branch, a son Michael S. Branch, brother D.R. “Ronnie” Stone, and sister Janet Stone Cowan.
