

Veronica Jean Jones, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born on July 19, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Edward S. Farrell, Sr. and Georgena Ross. Veronica’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and dedication to her family and friends.
Growing up in Pittsburgh, Veronica was known for her beautiful smile and kind-hearted nature. She graduated from St. Justin High School and went on to earn her degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where she nurtured her love for learning and built a foundation for her future. Throughout her life, education remained a cherished value for Veronica, and she instilled this same passion for knowledge in her family.
Veronica’s warm spirit and loving personality drew people to her, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Gail and Margaret, and her brother, Edward. Though the loss of these family members weighed heavily on her heart, Veronica continued to shine brightly as a pillar of strength for her loved ones.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Howard Richard Jones, Jr., who stood by her side through all of life’s joys and challenges. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and cherished memories. Her legacy lives on in her son, Sean Jones, and his wife, Margaret, as well as her precious grandchildren, Shea and Sullivan Jones. Veronica took immense joy in spending time with her family, creating lasting bonds that will be treasured for generations to come.
A member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Charlotte, Veronica was deeply committed to her community and her faith. She believed in the power of togetherness and often participated in various church activities, where her genuine spirit and kindness resonated with others.
In her leisure time, Veronica found solace in reading and crafting. She enjoyed expressing her creativity and sharing her crafts with others, often bringing her family and friends together to enjoy her creations. A true chocoholic, she delighted in the simple pleasures of life, often sharing treats with those she loved.
Veronica will be remembered as a beautiful, smart, and loving woman whose kind heart touched the lives of many. Her unwavering love for her family and friends, combined with her bright smile, will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
At this time, there are no scheduled services. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and encourages everyone to honor Veronica’s memory by embracing love, kindness, and the joy of family, just as she did throughout her life.
