Virginia "Ginny" Yvonne (Singleton) Gamble

Born October 23, 1935, in Union Springs, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Bobbie Powell Singleton Houston and wife of the late William T. (Bill) Gamble for 60 years. She was a devoted member of Stough Memorial Baptist Church and Flint Hill Baptist Church for more than 65 years as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, deacon and anything else that was asked of her. She earned her degree in Education from Western Carolina University. She worked as a teacher in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System for 34 years, which she viewed as her mission field where she touched the lives of thousands of students in her tenure. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, studying and teaching God's Word and had a great passion for plants.

Survivors include two children, Thomas Victor Gamble (Sherri) and William Scott Gamble (Lisa); five grandchildren, Andy Gamble, Alex Gamble (Jo), Hannah Neff (Justin), Heather Alexander (Trent), Haleigh Gamble; and four great grandchildren, Lynnlee Gamble, Lilly Kate Gamble, Luke Gamble and Oliver Gamble.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210 with the Visitation from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, and the Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bruce League officiating.
