Hi my name is giselle carrera and I was a student of ms baker 6 years ago i was devastated to hear her pass away I dropped on my knees and cried for days I was very close to her and she had a lovely smile and personality and I am very thankful I came across such a beautiful person like she was I loved her and adored her very much. I hope she is resting well

I just heard of Kay's death and wanted her family to know how much Kay was loved. I went to UNCW with her and considered her one of my good friends there in the PE department. I ran into her at a conference several years ago in Myrtle Beach and had the chance to rekindlle the friendship. I will always have great memories of Kay at UNCW and am happy she was a part of my life back then. God took one of the best home with him!

Well Pal, It's been a little over 2 months since God called You home because he needed a Angel. We sure Miss You here. We had so many joyous times. Helene & I will remember them forever. You sure were an Angel here on earth & now you're an Angel in Heaven. Prayers coming up to You & for Your Family here on earth.

Ms.Baker was my gym teacher while I attended Oakdale she was the best and always will be the best

She was my gym teacher when I was in fifth grade last year. She was always nice and was always happy to teach. When I found out she died, I was devastated. I wanted to just pull her from Heaven and let her stay with me. Words cannot explain how sweet and eager she was. This is very tragic.

Kay was my Dad's neighbor and good friend when she lived on Lake Norman.  She was always there looking after the elderly or needy neighbors.  When he had his stroke she visited him often in the hospital in Hickory.  I brought him home to Alabama with me to live out his life and she came here to visit us twice always bring him gifts and calling to check in on him.  I'm sure if I had mistreated him she would have come to his rescue!  She was such a kind, loving generous person.  She was one of my daddy's girls and he loved her like a daughter. He helped her learn more about growing tomatoes and she excelled at gardening. RIP my sweet friend.

She always greeted my son with a smile and fist bump at Oakdale Elementary. He was very sad to hear of her passing. Sending light and love.

I didn't know her well, met her a few times however my granny (Dot) held a special place for her in her heart. Kay always went to visit and made sure to go after my grandfather passed away. She was a great friend to her and my granny is missing her very much! My Kay rest in peace! Prayers to you all!

It's been a journey. Meeting you 40 years ago on the hard woods then as teachers we rekindled just before retirement. I will cherish all the memories and can't wait to see your smile and hug you again on the next part of our journey. Peace be with your loved ones.

Words can't express how deeply sorry I am to hear that Kay has passed on to eternal rest. I lived down the street from her on Purser Dr. and we grew up together...hung out together, went to all of he same schools together, and played sports together. A young life cut too short. I am deeply sorry for your loss and will be praying for her sisters and close friends who are grieving over the loss of a kind, loving, and special person. May God ease your pain and draw you close to Him.

Kay Kay, (you know I nickname almost everybody and that was yours) So honored that your family allowed me to be in the room with you when you took your peaceful journey. I will miss our talks about the high school days (Garinger Wildcats forever!), dancing in the halls, our daily hugs, and you showing me your polished toes trying to compete with mine!  Even yesterday they were electric blue with glitter so you won!  I'll get that color next time (smile!).  I love you and I miss you already but you are now safe and healed. It is hard to put into words how I am feeling right now. I only knew Kay for a short time but in that short time she became a good friend.
