Wanda Crouch Houston

Wanda Crouch Houston, age 79, of Indian Land, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026. Born on November 9, 1946, in Hickory, Wanda lived a life devoted to her faith, her family, and serving others with kindness and love.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Barry Houston, and her parents, Wayne and Mable Crouch.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Barry Houston Jr. and Dana Nicholson; her son-in-law, Greg Nicholson; her cherished grandchildren, Brittany Noonan, Dillon Houston, Ashley Houston, and Hailey Torres; and her siblings, Dale Crouch, Lynn Crouch, Kay Lookadoo, and Brent Crouch.

Wanda worked faithfully for many years at Kodak, serving as the lead trainer for all call center staff employees until her retirement. Beyond her career, her greatest calling was her dedication to the Lord. She was deeply involved in her church, where she faithfully taught Sunday school and shared the Gospel with countless children and families throughout the years. Her gentle spirit, strong faith, and loving heart touched everyone who knew her.

She found joy in cooking for her family, teaching children about Jesus, and expressing her creativity through drawing and art, where she displayed remarkable artistic talent.

Wanda’s life was a beautiful testimony of Christian faith and devotion. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in God’s promise and in knowing she is now in His presence.

Her legacy of love, faith, compassion, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral arrangements are set for Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11am at McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel, located at 10500 Park Road in Charlotte. Graveside service will follow at 1 pm at Higher Ground Church Cemetery, located at 8365 Possum Hollow Road in Indian Land. Family will receive friends at Wanda’s house following the services.
