

Mr. Fripp, age 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 26th at The
Haven in Pineville, N.C.
Born April 4th, 1923 in Sumter S.C., Mr. Fripp served as a fighter pilot
for the United States Marine Corps in WWII in the Pacific
Theater and also flew during the Korean Conflict. He was a founding
partner of Grier-Fripp & Associates Architects and retired in 2009
from Moseley Architects. He was a member of the AIA
and a graduate of the Citadel and Clemson University
with degrees in engineering and architecture. He was a charter member
of Pine Lake Country Club. Mr. Fripp attended Sharon
United Methodist Church in Charlotte.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8pm Friday, October
28th
at McEwen-Pineville. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at
McEwen- Pineville Chapel on Saturday, October 29th with
Reverend Lory Beth Huffman officiating.
A military burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. Mr. Fripp is survived
by his daughter, Tracy Pratt (Michael), his son Billy
Fripp (Valerie) both of Charlotte and his sister, Becky Weidman of Myrtle
Beach, S.C.; 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fripp was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Sheffield
Fripp and two sisters,Eugenia Starr and Frances Ducker.
The family wishes to thank the staff of The Haven for the compassionate
care provided in the last months of his life. A special thanks to Carolyn,
