He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Carpender, Sr., mother Janie Tucker Carpender, brother Henry Carpender, Jr, sister Anna Carpender Blanks and nephew Hugh (Chris) Carpender.
He has seven surviving nieces and nephews: Henry Carpender, III, William Carpender, Julianna Hofsess, Priscilla Carpender, Barbara White, Jane Strickland, and Janis Morick.
William, fondly called Tom or Brother worked at Production Tool and Die and later as a shuttle driver with the Charlotte airport. He enjoyed going to flea markets, repairing small engines, hunting and took pride in his yard. He will be missed by all.
A visitation for William will be held Monday, the 27th of January, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Crem Srv, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM in the Chapel. Burial following in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
