Judy and family, just recall'g all the wonderful memories of Woody,so caring, upbeat,cheerful, what a legacy to leave for all of us from someone so very dear and loving!

It has taken  me til now to find the words I wanna say...Poppa, I miss you so very much, but I know that you are watching over me right now and for always! You came into my life when I needed you most. You were my friend, and then you became my step-dad...a man who I admired more than words can say. You were always there for me with words of wisdom, a shoulder to cry on, and most of all, you just offered me unconditional love that I needed. You never judged me for anything I did, but instead, you gave me hope that all would be okay, and I thank you for that.

I wish you were here right now, but even though you're not, I know you are sharing my happiness with me. Kenny is going to be graduating tomorrow, Dec. 18th 2010, from UNCC. He made it poppa...he stuck with it and worked very hard to accomplish his goal. I know how much this meant to you, and I only wish you were here with us to share his joy, but I know you are looking down over him and smiling that handsome smile of yours for him. I also want to share Lindsey's good news with you. She has been accepted to Wingate College with a wonderful scholarship to boot. She is so excited and so am I. Keep your fingers crossed that this will work out for her. They both love you so much!

While I shed tears for you, they are tears of joy. I know you are in a better place and I also know that you are with my daddy. I hope you two are behaving up there! You will forever hold a special place in my heart...you are on one side and daddy is on the other. With both of you here...I know I will always be loved more than a girl could ask to be. You are yet another "angel" watching over me.

As I write this, I realize that I am experiencing grief for you.   The holidays are showing me that your joy was - for the most part - for my love of Christmas.  Then the circle went on around as I received more pleasure from your joy.  It was just another JUDY-WOODY thing.  I know you are in heaven and have no more pain, but I miss you terribly.

As the memories and remembrances show themselves I see more and more how very lucky I was to have had you in my life.  Your character shows in all the family and we hold you in our hearts as we gather for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The church family loved you as much as we do.  It is just a wonderful experience to see their thoughts of MR WOODY.

As I work to make complete peace with my grief, I hold you close in my heart.

Amazing person so gentle and kind and always put you at ease with any issues you had. He was not a step grandad to me he was a grandfather and a friend. I lost touch with Woody for several years physically but he was always close to my heart and always will be. Love Always -Christina .R

Woody Cooper was a testament to this noble challenge and met it every step of the way. His caring, positive approach to others coupled with his great sense of humor set him apart. While we as friends and family will miss his physical presence we will always be with him spiritually through our thoughts and prayers. Best Friends means different things to differnt people.  Some insist that you can have only only one best friend. Others assert that they have best friends for different aspets of thier personalities.  Whatever the precise definition, your best friend is the person who touches your heart and soul. They understand who you are and what you are saying. The greatest distance cannot seperate best friends. Woody and I will always have a kinship with each other, and be able to instanly continue our friendship in spirt and soul.  Judy, I feel your lost, but you will never know how much I appreciate the friendship that the three of us have developed over the years.
