

Wilma Kilgo, age 96, passed away on May 14, 2026. Born on August 5, 1929, Wilma, a native Charlottean, lived a long life marked by strength, devotion, and deep love for those around her. She was the daughter of Iverson and Verdie Horne.
Wilma was one of six children and shared a lifelong bond with her siblings. Brothers Paul, Raymond and Marcus and sisters Mary and Agnes. Her sister Agnes, now 104 years old, continues to reside in Charlotte. Wilma retired form Bank of America.
Wilma is lovingly survived by her daughters, Linda Kilgo and Janice Deane “Jann” Kilgo (Rick Kiser); one son, John Martin ”Jay” Kilgo; three granddaughters, Leslie Marie Kilgo Kiser(Mike Coffey); Emily Gayle Kilgo Kiser Yellick (Jason), and Margaret Ann “Maggie” Kilgo(Grace) ; daughter in law Janet Kilgo(Jimmy) ; one great-granddaughter, Clara Yellick, two great grandsons Teddy Yellick and Jamie Kilgo ; sister, Agnes Smith (George “Bud” Smith), and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilma was preceded in death by husband James “Jimmy” Kilgo who died in May, 2018 in; also preceded in death, son James “Jim” Kilgo III whose life was tragically cut short on April 30th, 2026.
