Obituary of Charles Edgar Lindsey
Charles Edgar Lindsey, 59, of Palmyra, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at his home surrounded by love. He was born on July 15, 1958, in Fluvanna County, the eldest son of Dalice Lee Zickefoose Lindsey and the late Floyd Edgar Lindsey. He was preceded in death by several beloved family members; aunt, Irene Mae Lindsey Lamb; uncle, Frank Mason Lindsey; and grandmother, Emma Jane Bourne Lindsey. He began working on cars at a young age and his passion led to a career as a mechanic. Charles’ love for vintage automobiles led to the restoration of many classics over the years. He enjoyed attending and participating in car shows. Charles could often be found in his garage, giving advice or tinkering on projects. His unique sense of humor, kind heart and generosity will be missed by many. He was well known and loved within the community. Charles will be deeply missed by his daughters, Kimberly Lindsey Hillard and her husband, Peter and Angela M. Lindsey; son, Charles "Chuck" Stephen Lindsey; three grandsons, Yavin M. Glasgow, Devan L. Glasgow and S. Maliek Glasgow; mother, Dalice Lee Zickefoose Lindsey; sisters, Diane M. Lindsey Davis and her husband Chris and Donna S. Lindsey Franklin and her husband George; brother, David A. Lindsey; nephews, Richard Kendrick, Jr., Kevin E. Franklin, Christopher A. Lindsey, Daniel L. Lindsey, Michael Lindsey, Robert P. Southall, and Richard Isbell; nieces, Christy Isbell Harper, Windy Isbell Markham, Sandra J. Kendrick, Kate Lamb, and Amanda Southall Brown. Charles will also be missed and treasured by close friend and the mother of his children, Deborah Southall; his furry companion, Isaiah; and, by numerous other family and friends. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Teague Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lyles Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one-hour prior to the service.
