

Doris Wray Moore Davis Doris Wray Moore Davis, 85, of Scottsville, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 18, 2016. Born Sunday, April 19, 1931, in Nelson County, she was the only daughter of the late William S. and Mary Louise Wray. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Willie, Tommy, and Marshall Wray. Doris is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kenneth L. Davis of Scottsville; her son, Wayne Moore (Joyce) of Scottsville; daughters, Barbara M. Flinn (John) of Midlothian, and Pamela M. Hulsey (Bob) of Avondale, Ariz,; grandchildren, Jeff Moore (Missy) of Scottsville, Alison Flinn of Midlothian, Matthew Flinn of Washington D.C., Zack Leffers of San Diego, Calif., and Nick Leffers of Boulder, Colo.; and nieces and nephews. Doris worked for 12 years at State Farm and also at Leggett’s. She was a loving wife and homemaker and an excellent cook. Special thanks to her caregivers over the past three years, Dixie Scott, Carol Thomas, Stephanie Johnson, Barbara Taylor, Edith Scott and Shelby Rasnake for coordinating the schedule for her caregivers. A funeral service will be conducted 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at the Teague Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Scottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
