

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earl Hansford Davis; her brothers Clyde Sandridge and J.T. Sandridge Jr.; and one sister, Josephine S. Beale. Doris is survived by her children Susan D. Miller (Larry) and Earl H. "Skip" Davis Jr. and his partner Sharon Lee; grandchildren Janet M. Caudle, L. Ray Miller Jr. (Kim), Earl H. "Trey" Davis III (Amber) and Charlene D. "Cherie" Houlihan (Sean) and step-granddaughter Danielle Lee; eight great-grandchildren and a future great-great-grandson due in April 2021; sister-in-law Ruby Starke Sandridge; and six nieces and nephews.
Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a lifetime active member of the United Methodist Church serving on several committees and boards over the years and an active member of the United Methodist Women for several decades.
The family wants to thank the ladies at Blue Ridge Adult Care; Selena, Becky, Hailey, Catherine and Krista who loved and cared for Doris for almost three years. Also, gratitude to Dr. Longo and Doris's care team at Martha Jefferson Hospital who kept her comfortable and prepared the family for Doris's transition to her afterlife.
A special thanks to Pastor Sarah Wastella who helped pave the road from this world to the next. Arrangements will be made at a future date for Doris's burial and celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crozet United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
