Dorothy “Dot” A. Lambert, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 7, 2019 after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage.
She was born February 8, 1929 in Danville, Virginia to Joseph and Zora Carswell Andrews. Dot was predeceased by her parents, brothers and husband of 72 years, Harry Lee Lambert. She and her husband both retired from Frank Ix & Sons. Dorothy is survived by her twin sons, Frederick K. Lambert (Pamela) of Ruckersville and Joseph E. Lambert “Eddie” (Diane) of Earlysville. Also survived by four grandchildren, Matthew Birdsall, Angela Miller, Jason Lambert and Meghan Lambert, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Dot was a member of Southside Church of God, and her strong faith was reflected in her many years of teaching. She was a devote prayer warrior and role model. Her other interests included travel, gardening and studying. Dot will be missed by many she touched with her boundless energy and outgoing sunny nature.
A memorial service will take place at Southside Church of God, 1807 Avon St. Extended, Charlottesville on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1:00 pm. A meal will be served by the Ladies Ministry Auxiliary after the service in the fellowship hall at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Ladies Ministry at Southside Church. Burial will be at a later date in Hurt, Virginia.
