9/11/81 – 8/25/18
On a sunny September 11, 1981 at 6:29 a.m., Erik Jason Norris came into this world. He emerged with his fists clenched and screaming at the top of his lungs. He rushed headlong into life in all that he did from that point on, including walking at the age of 6 months. Erik was a talented tattoo and other media artist. But like most artists, Erik hid a tortured soul that he didn’t want others to see and he ultimately could not exist on earth any longer and he left us on August 25th. Erik was also a house painter and a roofer. And he loved baseball having played in Little League, Charlottesville High School, Babe Ruth League, CB Baker League, and the Charlottesville Men’s League.
Erik leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Bruce and Janie Norris, his son Kristian Xzavier Norris and ex-wife Rolanda Loving, his daughter Mikaya Terry, his oldest sister, Stephanie Kester and her husband Scott, youngest sister, Rachel Callahan and her husband JP, the love of his life, his Queen Tina Allen, a loving grandmother Evelyn Norris, loving uncles, Dan and Keith Norris and Michael and Stephen Overbay, nephews Brandon Shelton and Anthony Jackson, nieces Lauren Shelton and Sydney Kester, a special friend/brother, Rodney Toms, and too many friends and people who just loved him and his quick smile and humor to mention. Erik was predeceased by his grandfather (and twin), his Pop Pop, David Norris and his grandmother Mary B. Tapscott.
Hold your loved ones tight. Keep them from harm as much as you can and tell them you love them as often as you can. Life is fleeting sometimes and those left behind will spend the rest of their time wondering if they could have done more. Fly high J. Rest easy, your trials are over now.
Erik was a huge Pittsburg Steelers Fan and we encourage anyone who wants to do so, to dress in their favorite NFL team's attire.
The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 12:00pm, the family will receive friends one hour prior at Teague Funeral Home 2260 Ivy Rd. Charlottesville Virginia 22903 with the Reverend Ernie Morse officiating. Interment will be private.
