Mom, Grandma and Aunt Faye, 84, of North Garden Virginia passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday July 6, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Born Jan 6, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Everette and Blanche Morris.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Lloyd Bryant (Buddy) and her son Alan Wayne Bryant who we know she is rejoicing with now.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved brothers and sisters Elson, Ellis, Cecil, Dick, Jimmy, Pete, Elsie Sandridge, Joyce Morris, Bertha Carlisle, Edna Hollopeter all of whom she has missed dearly …
She is survived by her sons, Billy Bryant (Paula), Jonathan Bryant and his wife Tara. She has also survived by her grandchildren Drake and his wife Cecilia, Jessica Dubyel, Lacey, Luke, Leah, Josh Bryant, and Dustin Bryant and her great grandchildren, Chase, Gwyn, Kayleigh, Connor, Tilly and Montana. Along with her children and grandchildren she is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She has also survived by Carol Oxley whom she took into her home for a while as a little girl and has stayed close with.
Faye’s greatest joy was spending time with her family wherever that may be. She was a friend to all and when she wasn’t Mom or Grandma, she wasn’t just Aunt Faye to her nieces and nephews, she was Aunt Faye to all their friends that came in and out of their life but never forgetting her.
Her home was always an open door and a home away from home to her family … Being the last sibling she took over while raising her own boys, the raising, guiding and loving of many of her nieces and nephews who all grew up more like brothers and sisters than cousins.
When her house overflowed with family, love and laughter you would find tents and teepees set up in her backyard where her love had no boundaries. Front porch sitting was one of her favorite pastimes whether it be just sitting having a little chat with God or running over with family and friends as we drank coffee or a glass of wine and reminisced about life today and the memories over the years. There was always room in her home and her heart. Her big breakfasts after our family reunions were a favorite memory to all. We will dearly miss her special rum cake at Christmas, her special macaroni salad for every family gathering and her chipped beef and sausage gravy for every breakfast.
She loved old country music and bluegrass, dancing, growing her plants and flowers and was always up for a road trip to visit family …
Those who knew and loved her will forever remember her smile, her enthusiasm for life and “can do” attitude through any challenge in life.
She was a strong woman of faith and lived her life with always open arms and heart overflowing with love to give…She was a constant source of guidance and a light that shined bright on us all and that light will forever burn bright with the stories we tell and the memories we treasure.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Carisa Bell for her care and devotion to our beloved Mom, Grandma and Aunt Faye.
A memorial service will be held Aug 2, 2025 at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville, Va. at 12:00.
Pastor Steven Turner will be officiating.
An interment will follow at a later date at the Evergreen Church in Dyke.
