
Helena, affectionately known as Helen, was born on December 29, 1947 in Canton, China to the late Jean Cook Fong and Ho Hing Nin. After leaving China, Helen spent some time in Panama before moving to Charlottesville to become a successful business owner. While raising her family as a single mother, Helen owned Yuan Ho Carry Out and Convenience Store and most recently Tokyo Rose Restaurant, which was voted one of the best sushi restaurants in Charlottesville.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Helen will be remembered for her strong will, booming voice, extreme generosity, and perfectionism.
Helen is survived by her sons, Philip and Kenneth, her daughters, Christina, Eva (Joe), Elenn (Glenn), granddaughters, Tiffany, Sophia, Luciana, and Arwen Jade, her brothers, Sam (Ming), Joseph (Mei), Albert (Fong), and sister, Jeanette (CC), nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Virginia Cancer Center.
