
Henry A. Morrow Jr, 91, of Charlottesville died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Rosewood Village. Born January 2, 1924 in Brownsville, PA, he was the son of the late Henry A. and Nelle Waggoner Morrow. He served in the Second World War as an Army Air Corps Bombardier with the 376 Heavy Bombardment Group. He was stationed in Lecce Italy and was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart for his service. Henry was a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College and the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. He had a distinguished 35 year career practicing law with the firm of Thorp, Reed and Armstrong in Pittsburgh PA. Henry spent his retirement travelling, playing golf and hiking on the Appalachian Trail.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joan Boone Morrow and by his brother Aubrey R. Morrow of Brownsville PA. He is survived by a brother, Leroy W. Morrow; his children Henry A. Morrow, III (Brenda), Nancy M. Pace (Ron), Rebecca M. Stultz, Margaret M. Barclay (Bruce), William H. Morrow (Jodi); ten grandchildren, Melissa Stultz, Matthew Engelhard (Karen), Carrie Stultz, Caity Morrow Wintruba (David), Meghan Morrow Walker (Jesse), Emily Morrow, Elizabeth Barclay Barthelmes (Robert), John Barclay, Samantha Morrow and Abigail Morrow; two great grandchildren, Finn Walker and Aidan Wintruba.
A memorial service will held at 2pm Saturday September 26, 2015 at Meadows Presbyterian Church, 2200 Angus Rd. Charlottesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Piedmont or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
