her home in Charlottesville, VA, on December 31, 2020. She was buried at
Monticello Memorial Park in Charlottesville on January 8, 2021.
She was born April 29, 1955, in Oakland, CA, to the late Jackson Wade
Stevenson and Mary Joann Vickery.
Meg was a librarian by trade and she had a life-long love of reading, leaving
behind thousands of books. She was a political activist and she was an
entrepreneur, running two businesses during her lifetime. She was a lover of
history, and she spent decades investigating her family history. It was this
connection to her ancestors that brought her slowly from California to her
ancestral homeland of Virginia. She loved to cook, good wine, rock music, and
true crime documentaries. She abhorred violence in all its forms and she was
a protector of the poor and the weak.
In addition to her parents, Meg was predeceased by her husband, Robert
James Scaringe (1950 - 1998). She is survived by her first husband, James
Fenton Kachur, of Davenport, FL, and their son, Daniel James Kachur, of
Appleton, WI.
