Randy Eugene Dabney, 52 of Scottsville VA passed away in his home on Sunday March 12th 2023. Randy was born in Virginia on December 31 1970. He was the beloved son of Joyce Marshall Dabney, and Edgar Dawson.
Randy is survived, and terribly missed, by his son Eddie, daughter Sarah, grandchildren Devan, Branden, Ian, and Zinnia, the mother of his children, and love of his life, Shawndra, his mother Joyce, father Edgar, brother Shaun, as well as many other family members and friends who loved him very much.
Randy was a jack of all trades, but especially enjoyed fixing up cars, and was a fantastic painter. He even had his own business at one point called kustomkarznpaint. He was the go to guy for any questions you could possibly have about the project you were attempting. He was always happy to give advice, and loved to lend a helping hand. He was also a phenomenal cook, and put a lot of heart and soul into every meal he cooked. Even the pickiest of eaters enjoyed what he could scrounge up in the kitchen.
He was a very outspoken man, and wasn't afraid to tell you that you're being a dumbass, and where exactly you can stick it. Despite that, he was also the nicest guy you could ever meet. He had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help not only the people he loved, but even people that he didn't particularly care for. He'd give you the shirt off his back if you asked, and wouldn't even expect it returned.
Randy was very passionate about music, and loved introducing people to songs he cared about. He jammed to everything, from bluegrass to death metal. If it was catchy, it was on his playlist.
He really enjoyed doing karaoke, especially classic country hits. But a personal favorite of a lot of people was his spot on rendition of break stuff by Limp Bizkit. He enjoyed playing the drums and was even learning how to play the guitar, ukulele and any other instrument he could get his hands on.
Randy was an outdoors man. He loved to fish, shoot, and just being outside enjoying the nature around him. If you were looking for him, chances are, he was outside. He absolutely loved animals of all kinds, but his favorite animal was a wolf. Allegany State Park was something he looked forward to every year, not only for the camping experience, but to gather with family and create hilarious and heartfelt memories.
Randy had the greatest sense of humor, and liked to find the lighter side to everything, making even the most serious situation somewhat comical. Almost everyone he met, left the conversation with a smile on their face cause he was always cracking jokes. Honestly, he's probably in the afterlife laughing at us all crying over him.
Randy was an amazing father, son, brother and friend. He tried his damndest to be the best possible human he could be. He managed to change a lot of things he didn't like about himself, and that took a lot of courage and strength and we were all so proud of him.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jeremy and Ashley for everything they've done for Randy, even after his passing.
A service will not be not be held at this time, but there will be one planned in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Randy's name to your local SPCA or food bank.
